Franklin Gold, a man of many talents and unwavering dedication, passed away on May 3, 2024. Born on July 21, 1940, Franklin lived a life full of love, laughter, and hard work.
Franklin was known for his exceptional skills - there was nothing he couldn't fix. His career started with Alenco, then production supervisor at Bryan Coca-Cola, next the City of College Station, and then Dynacon in Bryan. He took great pride in being a hard worker and standing his ground in honorable values.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Franklin will be remembered in the memories he created with those around him. From family vacations and gatherings to camping and fishing at Somerville Lake, he cherished every moment spent with his family and friends. He had a sense of humor with wit and charm, making him a legend in his own right. He often jokingly referring to himself as "GLB" - Good Looking Bohemian.
Franklin had a passion for music and playing in bands, as well as fishing, camping, tending to his vegetable garden, making homemade sausage, and simply piddling around. He was a proud Catholic and his strong faith guided him throughout his life and left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Sabine and Emma Gold; brother, Raymond Gold; and sister, Lillie Calhoun.
Franklin is survived by his beloved spouse of 63 years, Betty Gold; children, David (Teresa), Keith (Liliia), and Bradley (Jenni); grandchildren, Katherine, Mason, Karen, Macala (fiancé Alex), Anton, Brogan, and Berkley; sister, Rosie Maly; brother, Alvin Gold (Jeanie); sister-in-law, Janene Gold; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Franklin will be deeply missed but forever remembered for his talents, humor, and love for those around him. May he rest in peace knowing that he has left behind a legacy for all to cherish.
