Evelyn Pauline Greer

Loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Evelyn Pauline Hawks Greer joined hands with our Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at 5:34pm.

Evelyn was born to Asa and Vera Hawks on January 21, 1932, in Madisonville, Texas as the oldest of three daughters. She attended school in Bryan where she was very active as a volleyball player until the age of 16 and married the love of her life, Skeet Greer on October 23, 1948. She continued to stay active in sports by playing baseball for many years.

Evelyn and Skeet shared 65 wonderful years together until his passing in January 2014. She loved taking care of her family and hosting family holidays and took pride in her home and yard. From the age of 12 years old when she accepted our Lord and Savior into her heart, she was a devoted member of Central Church of Christ in Bryan. Upon passing, she had been a member of the same Church of Christ for 80 years.

She is preceded in death by her husband, F.W. (Skeet) Greer; her parents; and her two sisters, Ann Jamison and Peggy Kindt.

Evelyn is survived by her children, Gary Greer and Connie Coberly, Jan Thiebaud and husband Gary; grandchildren, Dusty Andrews and husband Ruben Flores, Clint Andrews and wife Tami, Jake Conrad and wife Casi; three great grandsons, Chasyn Andrews and Emma Johnston, Patrick Gallager and Westyn Andrews; sister-in-law, Ann Smith and husband Buster; brother-in-law, Sonny Greer and wife Billie Lou; sister-in-laws, Naomi Greer and Mary Greer; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

A time for family to receive friends will be Monday, March 25th from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Hillier of BRYAN with a Funeral Service on Tuesday March 26th at 2:00pm. Interment will follow at Greer Family Cemetery in Normangee. Pallbearers will be Clint Andrews, Chasyn Andrews, Westyn Andrews, Jake Conrad, Carey Smith, and Rick Jamison. Honorary Pallbearer will be Patrick Gallager.

Evelyn Pauline Greer will be dearly missed by all that loved and knew her as friend, wife, mother, grandmother, and Christian matriarch of our family.
