Emma E. McAfoos

December 22, 1943 — January 17, 2024

Emma McAfoos, a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and woman of strong faith, passed away on January 17, 2024, in Bryan, TX. Born on December 22, 1943, in Kittanning, Pennsylvania, where she grew up. Emma was the daughter of John Kennith Lemmon and Anna Mae McNabb. 

Emma graduated from high school in Ashtabula, OH. After completing her education, Emma embarked on a fruitful career. She worked at a fiberglass plant as well as Danver's Restaurant in College Station, TX. Additionally, she served as a BISD-Bus Aide. She found joy in the work she did and the people she collaborated with.

Family was at the center of Emma's world. She cherished her role as a mother and raised her children with values of honesty, hard work, and politeness. Emma's devotion to family extended beyond her own children; she held her grandchildren and great-grandchildren close to her heart. The arrival of each grandchild and great-grandchild brought immeasurable joy into Emma's life. Special occasions such as birthday parties and school events were always celebrated. 

Emma possessed a kind-hearted nature that endeared her to everyone she met. She was known for being a friend to all and welcomed others into her life with open arms. Her warm personality made it easy for people to connect with her.

In her free time, Emma indulged in various hobbies and interests. She had an undying love for Elvis Presley's music and movies. She also enjoyed to watch her soap operas and complete puzzles. She loved her collection of porcelain dolls and Santas. Furthermore, Emma held a treasured collection of homemade cards from her beloved grandchildren that she cherished dearly.

Emma was predeceased by her father, John Kennith Lemmon; mother, Anna Mae McNabb; sister Margaret (Peggy) Greene; and brothers James Carney, Rick Hall, and Jack Lemmon. 

She is survived by her children Darlene McAfoos-Wyatt, Alton McAfoos and his spouse LaVonne, and Jerry McAfoos and his spouse Danielle; grandchildren Hollie McAfoos, Ashlie McAfoos, Kraven McAfoos, Michael McAfoos, and K.J. McAfoos; great-grandchildren Artamis, Eric, Joseph, Daniel; sisters Nina Bryan and her spouse Jim of Saybrook, OH, Jackie Nunamaker and her spouse Dave of Saybrook, OH, and Neva Polleck of Austinburg, OH; brothers Robert Carney of Ashtabula, OH, John Lemmon and his spouse Carrolyn of Geneva, OH, John Carney and his spouse Linda of Bryan, TX and Rick Lemmon of Ashtabula, OH.

Emma McAfoos will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her legacy is one of love for family and unwavering kindness towards others. May she rest in eternal peace as we carry forth the values she instilled in us.
