Elliot Vincent Dufour, 71, of Brazos County passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2008, at St. Joseph Regional Health Center. Services are set for 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 20, at Bethel Temple Assembly of God, located at 2608 E. Villa Maria in Bryan, with graveside services following at 3:30 p.m. at New Church Cemetery in Edge, Texas. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 19, at Hillier Funeral Home.
Vincent was born on August 26, 1936. He served in the U.S. National Guard and was a division manager in the oil and gas industry.
Vincent was a born prankster with a great sense of humor. He loved gardening and the outdoors and was an avid reader. At one point in his life, he had chickens, who he loved taking care of. He loved to cook so much that he built an outdoor kitchen in his backyard.
He loved teaching people about the word of God in his Sunday school class. He loved the Lord so much that the night before he passed away, he told his pastor that he had dreamt of Heaven.
Survivors include his wife of more than 32 years, Frances Dufour; sons and daughter-in-law, Marc and Jill Dufour and Elliot Dufour; stepsons, Thomas Burke and Terry Burke and wife, Christine; step-grandchildren, Brian and Brenda Burke; step-great-grandson, Ethan Burke; sister, Elrose Dufour; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the building fund of Bethel Baptist Church.
