College Station

Edmund B. Jacobs Jr., 77, of College Station is Heaven Bound as of September 12, 2022.

Jake grew up in Baytown, Texas and graduated from Robert E. Lee High School. He obtained his Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association card and earned multiple championship awards while competing in the National High School Rodeo Association. He went on to attend Stephen F. Austin University, joined the Army in 1965, and finally returned to college classes at Lee College.

He met his wife, Linda, through mutual friends and their love would trickle down to anything involving his kids and grandkids and their activities. He loved fishing, sports, rodeo, dirt-bike racing, and dancing. He was also an avid golfer and loved playing dominoes. After retiring from his welding career, he enjoyed being a greeter at Sam’s Club. Also known as PawPaw, Poppa, Mr. Jake, Bim Jr., Old Man, and Uglier than Me, Jake will be remembered for being a great prankster, his love of horses, all the love and pride he took in his family, and his love of sweets, a trait he inherited from his mother.

Jake is survived by his wife of 44 years, Linda Jacobs; sons, Neil Jacobs and wife Marcy of Austin, Texas and Brian Nichols and wife Amy of Dayton, Texas; daughter Amanda Lyons and husband Tommy of Millican, Texas; grandchildren, Darrell Nichols and wife Chandler, Jordan Stockwell and husband Richard, Holden Nichols, Ian Nichols and wife Breanna, Jacob Lyons, Emily Lyons, and Hayley Jacobs; and great-grandson Reed Nichols.
