Edith Irene Sims Graham, age 98 of Bryan passed away Sunday morning, January 14, 2007 in the Navasota Nursing and Rehab Center.  She was born August 13, 1908 in Bessmay, Texas to Frank Marion Sims and Estele Fuller Sims.

She attended Mary Hardin Baylor and the University of Texas in Austin.  When the depression hit, she worked at a Business School for her tuition.  Upon completion of Business School, she continued her employment with the Business School, to cover her sister’s tuition.  She moved to Bryan in 1934 and was a former member of the Woman’s Club of Bryan, the Business and Professional Women’s Club and the First United Methodist Church of Bryan.   Edith retired from Texas A&M University Registrars Office as a Transcript Clerk.

She is preceded in death by her husband Calhoun McCulloch Graham in 1961.

Survivors include a son Gordon Calhoun Graham of Big Fork, Montana; two daughters Carolyn Graham Worley of Bryan and Linda Graham Weaver of Navasota; a sister Effie Sims of Beaumont; and five grandchildren.

A graveside inurnment will be held at Bryan City Cemetery on March 31, 2007 at 2:00 p.m.
