Doris Nevill

Mrs. Doris Louise Wren Nevill, 89, of Bryan, TX, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 21, 2008 at the Sheridan of Bryan.
Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at the Bryan City Cemetery.
Visitation will be prior to the graveside service at 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Hillier Funeral Home.
Louise was born in Iola, TX, to Gaines and Eva Wren, where she was one of seven children.  Mrs. Nevill was a member of the Central Baptist Church of Bryan and enjoyed spending time in church and with her Sunday school class the Uplifters.  Even after moving to the Sheridan, she continued to be a group captain of the class until recently when her eye sight began to fail.  Louise was also an active member and past president of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary, Earl Graham Post.  She was the coordinator for the Christmas Gift Program at the Veterans Hospital in Marlin, TX, for many years.   Mrs. Nevill’s greatest love was her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She adored spending time with them.
Louise was preceded in death by her husband; James Colly Nevill, son-in-law: Anton Englemann, Jr.; three brothers and two sisters.
Survivors: Daughters: Bonnie Benbow and husband Evan, Nancy Welch; grandchildren:  Wes and April Welch, Cindy and Bruce Kunz; great-grandchildren: Zachary and Cannen Welch, Landon and Dayton Kunz; one sister: Opal Zacek; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.  Mrs. Nevill will be greatly missed by our community, she was always there to volunteer with the Central Baptist Church and the Women’s Auxiliary.  Countless hours were given to brighten the days of strangers. Memorials can be made to the Still Creek Boys and Girls Ranch; 6055 Hearne Rd., Bryan, TX 77808. The family wishes to give special thanks to the Sheridan Nursing Center for their caring, compassionate love that they gave to their mom.  Especially Jennifer, Maggie, Sheila, Juanita and Stephanie.
