Donna Slater

Donna Sue (Mathis) Slater, 67 of Caldwell, Texas passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on October 2, 2021. She was born on March 16, 1954 in Chester, Illinois to Darlene Mathis of Percy, Illinois.

Donna enjoyed reading, fishing, crocheting and in her younger years playingsoftball. She was especially fond of all of her fur babies and loved them dearly.She was blessed with the gift of a green thumb and could grow any seed into a
beautiful plant or tree and enjoyed gardening and canning.

She is preceded in death by her mother Darlene Mathis, great granddaughter Rose Jangmi Kempfer, and a
brother Scott A. Mathis.

Donna is survived and will be greatly missed by her loving husband of almost 37 years, Charles Loyd (Podie Joe) Slater, two daughters Melinda Marie (Mindy) Pratt (David), Shana Sanders-Buffaloe (Todd), step son Charles Jeffrey Slater (Amanda), step-daughter Kimberly Kimble (Josh), Grandson Blake Kempfer (Judy), along with 6 other grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and numerous relatives.

The family is respectfully fulfilling her last wish, there will not be a funeral service, they will celebrate her life privately.
