Donna Lee LaMar

January 7, 1933 — March 12, 2024

Bryan, Texas

Donna Lee LaMar, 91 years old, of Bryan, TX was born on January 7, 1933 to Kenneth and Marjorie White in Oklahoma City, OK.

Donna grew up and lived in Oklahoma City, and raised in Crown Heights Christian Church. She attended The University of Oklahoma where she pledged Alpha Delta Pi, and later transferred to Oklahoma State University.

Donna married the love of her life, Donald (Don) Wills LaMar in 1953. Donna and Don first met in elementary school. He gave her a valentine in the 3rd grade that she saved and treasured all of her life!

Don's work in the carpet business eventually moved them to Bryan, TX where they made it their home.

They loved the small town atmosphere and knew they wanted to raise their three children, Cindy, Don Jr., and Mary Kay, in this special place. They joined First United Methodist Church in Bryan where Donna was very active including working in the church office, ladies groups, Sunday school, and numerous fundraising church projects.

Donna was also very involved with the Women's Club for many years and served as its President for their 100th year celebration. Donna was one of the five founding members to organize and bring The Junior League of Bryan/College Station to fruition. Donna was also passionate about organizing the Zeta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Delta Pi. She was fundamental in planning and fundraising for the Alpha Delta Pi house built in 1980.

Donna and Don travelled all over the world. They generously took their children and grandchildren along for amazing family trips and adventures. Another wonderful memory was their life and second home in Horseshoe Bay, TX. The family spent a lot of time there for holidays, birthdays, and summer fun.

We take comfort that she is reunited in Heaven with her husband of 68 years, Don; with her daughter, Cindy Davis; and grandson, Drew Davis. She is survived by her son, Don Jr. and wife, Patti LaMar; daughter, Mary Kay and husband, David Quackenbush; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and numerous other family members who all loved her deeply.
