Donald Wernert

Donald Craig Wernert was called to be with the Lord on Friday, June 20, 2008, after a courageous battle with cancer. A memorial service is set for 2 p.m. Monday, June 23, at Hillier Funeral Home.Born in San Antonio on May 4, 1941, Donnie was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a proud member of The Originals Home Builders Group. He built and developed for The Originals and later for his own company, Total Builder Services, for more than 35 years. Donnie's greatest joy was being surrounded by his loving family and friends.Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Renee Wernert; three sons and daughters-in-law, Greg and Gina, Chad and Rhiannon and Bret and Michelle; grandchildren, Lucas and Sofia; brother and sister-in-law, Louis and Cecille; and numerous nieces and nephews.The family wishes to thank the doctors and staff at MD Anderson, Homewise Home Health Care and Hospice Brazos Valley. May God bless the people who have touched the family's lives through this troubling time.
