Donald Eugene Ray, Jr. was born in Bryan, Texas on January 18, 1963 and passed away at home on August 19, 2023.
While growing up in Bryan, he was a bit mischievous. He liked to play with fire bombs and almost caught the house on fire. Once, he and his cousin hopped a train, rode it to Hearne, and were in big trouble when they got home! After graduating high school, he went straight to work in the oil fields loved working as a handyman and mechanic.
It was love at first sight when he met Maria! They were married for 17 years and although divorcing, they remained good friends, always caring for and loving one another. He was a Christian who knew and loved God and had a good relationship with Him. His biggest passions included his faith in God, his sons, and his family. He cherished the days both of his sons married as well as the birth of his grandchildren.
Donald was spontaneous, wild, helpful, strong, funny, kind, and compassionate. He had a great sense of humor, good taste in music, and was a great cook. He was often found making big fires and drinking Busch beer, camping on the river, and floating on the river in the canoe. He loved the Blue Angels, drag racing, and funny cars. His sarcasm and goofy sense of humor led him to tell everyone that they should always carry an extra pair of socks in the truck!
He has been reunited in Heaven with his parents, Donald and Joyce Ray; and his furry family pet, Tori.
Donald is survived by his children, Donald Ray III and wife Ashley, and Daniel Ray and wife, Natalie; grandchildren, Noah Ray and Grace Ray; loving ex-wife, Maria Ray; and siblings, Diana Ray Cottrell and Tina Ray.
