Donald (Don) Lee Hall, passed away peacefully in his sleep August 4, 2021 with his wife at his side. Don was born on January 22, 1932 in Roanoke, Virginia to Jessie James and Beatrice (Bea) Martin Hall.
Don met the love of his life, Barbara (Bobby) Blankenship and married on January 14, 1954 in Roanoke Virginia where they lived their entire lives.
Don was an avid fan of his family's activities, especially when following his son's sports teams and his daughter's singing career.
Don loved the beach and sun! He planned yearly trips to Myrtle Beach with his wife and children. He loved the beach trips so much; he was often known to have made numerous trips per year with his children and grandchildren.
Don served in the United States Coast Guard from 1949 until 1953 during the Korean War conflict. He was first employed by American Bridge-US Steel working as a draftsman. After a two year stint there, he was hired by the United States Post Office as a letter carrier. Don remained with the Post Office for 31 years before retiring in 1989. After his retirement from the Post Office, he was hired part-time by Carillion Roanoke Memorial Hospital as the parking garage superintendent until his final retirement in 2011.
He always loved people and enjoyed interacting with his customers on his post office route and with the doctors, nurses and hospital staff at Carillion Hospital. He always joked with friends that he worked in the medical profession.
