Diane Hansen Iacoponelli departed from this world on May 12, 2024. Born in Sioux City, Iowa on August 11, 1933, Diane's life was a testament to love, generosity, and family.
Throughout her career as a stewardess and secretary at United Airlines and as secretary at St. Mark's Evangelist Church in Plano, Texas, Diane touched countless hearts with her warm and compassionate nature.
Family always came first for Diane. She found true joy in the company of her grandchildren, cherishing every moment spent with them. Holidays held a special place in her heart as they provided the perfect opportunity for family gatherings and creating everlasting memories.
In her leisure time, Diane indulged in crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, reading mysteries, watching English comedies, and playing bridge. These simple pleasures brought her immense joy and relaxation amidst life's busyness. She found companionship and camaraderie through organizations like Clipped Wings, an association of former United Airlines stewardesses, and the Richardson's Women's Club.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband John "Jack" Iacoponelli, Jr.; parents Henry Wilbur Hansen and Jeanette Ellington Hansen; step-father, Howard Stearns; and step-sisters, Dorcus Stearns, Barbara Stearns and husband Ted, Janet Stearns and husband Dick.Diane leaves behind a legacy of love and generosity that will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to have known her. She is survived by her children, John and Robin Iacoponelli and Mark and Shay Iacoponelli; grandchildren, Samantha Iacoponelli Calderon and husband Leo, Thomas Hansen Iacoponelli, and William Zachary Iacoponelli; great-grandchild-to-be, Baby Girl Calderon due in July 2024; and siblings Stephen Hansen and wife Judy.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research or to The American Parkinson Disease Association.

She will be placed to rest with her loving husband, John Iacoponelli Jr. at the Dallas National Cemetery later this year.
