Darby Jean “Skipper” Kerr, 75, of College Station passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2008, at St. Joseph Regional Health Care Center.
Skipper was born on January 14, 1933, in San Benito, Texas, to Werner Jack and Sue Inez (Moore) Ehlers. She grew up in San Benito, Texas, where she served as a drum majorette. She graduated from University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Art. She was a member of Alpha Delta Pi.
She was a member of the Ladies Christian Organization PEO for more than 54 years and she was also a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church.
Skipper loved to garden. She was very patient and her optimism was incredible. She was very much a lady in all her ways and always spoke highly of everyone, never speaking poorly of anyone.
Survivors include her husband of more than 54 years, W.P. Kerr; sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald S. and Dorie Kerr of Houston and J. Mike and DeDe Kerr of Maraga, Calif.; grandchildren, Emma, Jonathan, Kelly, Amanda and Darby; and dear friend, Diane Lestina and her family.
