Connie Watson, 64, of Marquez, passed away on Saturday, July 24, 2021. A mighty warrior in her fight against cancer, Connie's caring and funny personality will be missed by many. A strong-willed woman, her presence will be remembered by all who knew her.

Connie was born on December 4, 1956, in Brenham Texas to her parents, Bernarr and Alma Place. As a young girl, Connie had a vivid imagination, always creative. She attended Bryan High School, and then worked as an optician for Dr. Allison for years in College Station. Connie had two children, Lance Watson and Jason Huckaby who she loved very much. Her grandson, Eli, was the apple of her eye. The day he was born was the greatest day of her life and was the most important thing to her.

As a Christian, Connie praised her Lord and Savior. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Marquez for many years. Connie was also very involved in the Bulldog community.

Connie had a creative mind, and had an extravagant story telling ability. Her stories were always lively and entertaining. She also loved to dance and sing! Connie loved to travel, and especially enjoyed cruises. She attended many family gatherings during the holidays. She enjoyed cooking at Thanksgiving and Christmas for everyone. Her special dressing recipe for Thanksgiving was always a hit with her family! She loved holidays and they were always a joyful time for Connie. Connie was a happy spirit, filled with joy, humor, and care; she will be missed by all that knew her.

Connie will be remembered by her children, Lance Watson and wife Jennifer, and Jason Huckaby; grandchild, Eli Huckaby; siblings, Mary Derkowski and husband Bill, and Delinda Bass and husband Frank; and numerous nieces and nephews who loved her very much. Also,her furry family members, Mookie and Ginger Rogers and numerous strays from the Rescue Shelter.

Connie will be reunited with her parents and many other loved ones in heaven.

The family would like to thank Hospice Brazos Valley, including A.J. who she considered her an adopted granddaughter. The family would also like to thank best friends, Debbie Pruett and Randy Seales, for always being there for Connie.
