Charles Eldon Self

Charles Eldon Self, 86, entered into his eternal rest on Sunday, August 14, 2022.

Charles was born on May 6, 1936 in Houston, Texas to parents Travis and Mildred Self. Charles was a dedicated police officer in Houston, Texas. A Deputy Detective for Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department and last served as a Deputy for the Milam County Sheriff Department.

Charles was also a Pipe Designer Engineer and mostly worked in Houston, Texas, but would occasionally have to leave the state to help with different projects.

Charles was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Milam County.

Charles is preceded in death by his parents Travis and Mildred Self; sister Doris Barker; mother-in-law Dorothy Baker;  granddaughter Carrie Self; and grandson Justin Eaker.

Charles leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Dorothy M. Self; his children, Kenneth E. Self, Twanya Weber, Tangee Self, C.T. Self and wife Karla, daughter Tabitha Eaker and husband Richard; brother, J. Wayne Self  and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
