Charles Edward Allgeier Sr.

December 28, 1936 — September 4, 2022

Charles Edward (Eddie) Allgeier, 85, passed away September 4, 2022

Eddie grew up in Morrilton, Arkansas, Texarkana, Texas, and Greenville, Texas. A mischievous boy, he and his friends often played hide-and-seek in caskets at one of his friend's dad’s funeral homes. He received a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in English and Minor in History with Teaching Certification. He worked as a Pharmaceutical Salesman, a Manager at Sherwin Williams Paint, and as a teacher at Camp Gary and Mt. Pleasant High School.

While home on Army leave, his parents arranged for him to meet Gela who worked next door to the store they managed. The greatest days of his life were his marriage to Gela and starting their family together. Eddie was a giving and loving man dedicated to family. He was friendly, funny, and everyone’s friend. Eddie loved life and had a great respect for others, bringing joy to all that had the opportunity to meet him.

Eddie was involved with the NRA and loved hunting and being in the mountains of Montana and Sierra Blanca. He loved to watch football, golf, operas, and documentaries. He was an avid reader with a collection of music and books and was well-traveled.

Eddie was preceded in death by his son, Ed Allgeier, Jr.; older brother, Otto O'Neal Allgeier, and parents, Otto Paul and Leota Enloe (O’Neal) Allgeier.

Eddie’s memories will be cherished by the love of his life, wife Gela Allgeier; children, Jody Akers and Sara Zielonka and husband, Steve; grandchildren, Lee Akers and spouse Kerri, Kari Suchecki and husband John, Kyla Hutchison, Cody Hutchison and spouse Jena, Holly Brackeen, and Ricky Meier and spouse Wendy; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
