Catalina (Cathy) Saenz, 74, went Home to be with her Lord on July 30, 2022.
A giving and loving woman, Cathy was a devout Christian. She loved Jesus and her church, but her family was her greatest passion.
Cathy grew up in Hearne, TX and raised her family in Bryan, TX. She was known as Mama, Ma, Grandma, Memo, Aunt Cathy, Catalina, Cata, and Cathy to those who loved her. She gave all her time to helping others and made everyone around her feel loved. She never missed a funeral, birthday party, baby shower or any celebration for her loved ones. She retired from A&M to care for her great-grand kids. Cathy loved cooking and sharing her recipes, Tejano dancing, and praying the rosary; her faith was stronger than most and her answer to every situation was to pray and trust Jesus. Her selflessness to serve Christ and others was her testament to her faith, morals, and values. Quick to say, “Thank you, Jesus”, she will also always be remembered for saying, “All we can do is pray.”
Cathy was preceded in death by her parents, Juanita and Jesse Lara; and siblings, Petra Navarro, Herminio Lara, Felis Casino, Josephine Ruiz, Jesse Lara Jr., Raymond Lara, Frank Lara, Adam Lara, and Mary Lara.
Cathy is survived by her children, John and Sonya Saenz, Jesse Saenz, and Barney and Crystal Saenz; grandchildren, Erika and Ben Kologinczak, Sara Saenz, John Saenz, Sadie Saenz, and Marcus Saenz; great-grandchildren, Alissa, Benny, and Cameryn Kologinczak; and siblings, John and Virginia Alamanza, Eva Ruiz, and Janie Gomez.
