Cary Conn Bass, Jr., 82 years of age, of College Station, Texas received his heavenly healing on Sunday, November 12, 2023. He was born in Natchez, MS on November 17, 1940 to Conn Bass and Vernell Rogers Bass. Being an only child he loved the time spent with his many cousins on the family farm in Monticello, MS. At an early age, he publicly committed his life to Christ at a Billy Graham Crusade. He continued to be active in various churches throughout his life and at the time of his passing was a member of Christ Church in College Station.
In 1963, Cary received his undergraduate degree from Mississippi State University where he met and later married Sue Ellen Haber. He continued his education by earning a law degree from the University of Mississippi School of Law. In 1968, he moved his family to Port Arthur, TX and continued practicing real estate law as owner of Port Arthur Abstract Company. He treated his employees as family and cherished the relationships that grew out of the business. He loved spending time with special friends hunting, fishing, and telling stories around the campfire.
Cary is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sue Ellen Bass; son Scott Bass and wife Ashley of Amarillo; daughter Beth Bass of College Station; and one special grandson, Connor Bass, whom he loved dearly.
In lieu of flowers, Cary requested that memorials be sent to Kingdom Dog Ministries, 24915 Canston Ct., Spring, TX 77389 or the charity of your choice.
