Carolyn Anne (Phillips) Swan, 49, of Hearne passed away in the morning of Tuesday, April 29, 2008, at St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan.
Carolyn was born on October 23, 1958, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Houston to Charles Edward Phillips Jr. and Evalyn Belle (Christian) Phillips. She loved to dance, cross-stitch, cook, decorate her home and rescue animals. She was especially known for her chicken fried steak, spaghetti and fresh apple cake.
One of her proudest memories while working in Bryan-College Station was cooking chicken fried steak at Hampton’s Café for Governor Rick Perry.
She was preceded in death by her father; older brother, Charles Edward Phillips III; and grandparents, Robert and Ethel (Tweedy) Christian.
Survivors include her beloved son, William Clay Swan Sr.; grandson, William Clay Swan Jr., born on March 12, 2007, of Phoenix; mother, Evalyn Phillips of Point Blank, Texas; sister, Cheryl Anne (Phillips) Hierholzer of Virginia Beach, Va.; niece, Barbara Lynn Phillips-Weeks of Tomball, Texas; her beloved dog, Pee Wee; and many cousins and friends.
