Carolyn Steubing

July 3, 1953 — March 3, 2024

Franklin, Texas

Carolyn Reed Brown Steubing, affectionally known as Carrie, was born on July 3, 1953, in Houston, Texas and stepped into Glory on Sunday, March 3, 2024. Born to the late Norman Lee & Philippa Adams Brown, she grew up in Spring Branch with her older sisters, Philippa (KoKo) and Sarah Gibson.

On August 10, 1970, Carrie married the love of her life, Johnny O. Steubing. For the past fifty-three years, Johnny and Carrie have honored Christ as the head of their lives and home. They have loved each other wholeheartedly, raised two beautiful children, John and Kimberly, and served God unashamedly.

Carrie was a homemaker and a woman of Faith who enjoyed being a mom, crappie fishing, gardening, and raising chickens. She also enjoyed going to work with her husband, being with her family, and going to eat with friends from church. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. In 1990, Carrie received her GED from Tomball Community College along with husband, Johnny.

Carrie was known for being a woman of prayer, a student of the Word of God, a soul winner, and was intentional about her walk with Jesus. She and her friends from church went door to door, making sure everyone she met had the opportunity to hear the Word of God and accept Jesus as their Savior. Carrie loved being in the Presence of God, singing and worshipping to her favorite song, Increase (New Heights Music). She also loved her Pastors, Pastor Brian and Crystal Hallam and her church home, New Heights Church, where she faithfully served on the Host Team and as a Prayer Partner.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Philippa Brown, her sister Philippa (KoKo), and her daughter Kimberly.

To carry on her legacy, Johnny (her husband of 53 years), son John, granddaughter Jessica, grandson Dustin, great-granddaughter Hailey, great-grandson Wyatt, sister Sally (Dave) Martin, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Rhonda, Shawna (Ed), Robin, Bobby, and Larry (Barbara). Also, long-time prayer partners, Lynda, Janet and Joyce, soul-winner partner, Debra George, many nieces and nephews, a host of cousins and friends who will miss her dearly, but patiently anticipate until we meet again!

To my family and friends...

“Continue your journey towards the prize who is Jesus”
