A public viewing will take place from 12-1 pm on Thursday, July 1, at Grace Bible Church Anderson location. A funeral service will take place at 1 pm on Thursday, July 1, at Grace Bible Church Anderson location.
Carol was born on December 1, 1944, in Springfield, Illinois, to her parents Carmel and Harriet Rogers. She grew up in different parts of the United States, but spent most of her childhood in Texas. After Carol graduated from High School, she attended Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri, where she graduated in May of 1966.
After graduating, Carol married her husband, Floyd Allen "De". They were introduced by his brother, Darwin who was married to her sister, Cathy. They had three children together, Andy, Sandy, and Deanna.
Carol worked in accounts payable the majority of her life. She had a longstanding career working for Rockwell, a contractor for NASA. She was very successful at her job and received many awards. She was even allowed to attend the launch of one of the space shuttles in Florida.
In Carol's spare time she enjoyed playing games with her grandchildren, scrapbooking, playing the piano, and singing. She also loved to spend time with her family and enjoyed their company.
The most important thing in Carol's life was her faith in Jesus Christ. She accepted him has her Lord and Savior at a young age and kept the faith throughout her whole life. She enjoyed attending church and oftentimes participated by playing the piano, singing in the church choir, or teaching Sunday school.
Carol had great faith in the Lord, she did not let her circumstances steal her joy, even in hard situations. She knew what her God was capable of and relied on Him even when things did not go as planned. She passed this faith down to her children and demonstrated to them what it looked like to be a true follower of Christ.
Carol was a gentle, faithful, and gracious woman of God. She loved her family with all of her heart and would do anything for them. Carol will be missed by all who were blessed to have known her.
The memories of Carol are remembered by her children, Floyd Andrew "Andy" Ward and wife Lorena Ward, Casaundra "Sandy" Lyn Shannon and husband Heath Shannon, Deanna Rachelle Voss and husband Rob Voss; and grandchildren, Esperanza Ward, Jackson Shannon, Cade Shannon, Cameron Voss, and Landon Voss. Carol is reunited in heaven with her husband, Floyd Allen Ward; parents, Carmel and Harriet Rogers; sister, Cathy Ward; and brother-in-law, Darwin Ward.
