Bret Hitchcock passed away on June 4, 2023, surrounded by family members. Bret died at the age of 42 after a lengthy illness and is now with the Lord. Bret was born on August 20, 1980, in Bryan, Texas.
He spent his first nine years in the Champions Park subdivision in Houston, TX. During this time, he made many friends and loved participating in all of the community activities. He then moved with the family to Schererville, Indiana where he attended middle school. In 1993 the family moved to Northville, Michigan where Bret completed junior high and high school. Bret made many life-long friends in Michigan and thoroughly enjoyed his high school years there. He followed in his brother’s footsteps and attended Texas A&M University, where he graduated in the Class of 2003. Bret moved to Chicago to work for CDW before heading to Lansing, Michigan where he worked for Liquid Web. In 2014 Bret returned to College Station. He worked in the web hosting business until his illness was too much to handle.
Bret is survived by his parents, Bill and Susie (Goldsmith) Hitchcock; his sister Hilary; brother Kyle; sister-in-law Natasha; nieces Isabel, Brooklyn, Cassidy, and Isla; as well as his nephew Isaac; each of whom loved him dearly. Bret was known as a friend to all. Those who knew him encountered a deeply empathetic individual with the gift of hospitality, a great sense of humor, and unshakable loyalty.
In Bret’s honor, donations may be made in his name to the Brazos Valley Food Bank, Hospice Brazos Valley, or Team Mercy (box.org).
