Blanca Topson

Blanca Arca Topson, 90, passed away in Bryan on Saturday, February 9, 2008, after a long illness.  A rosary will be said for her this Wednesday evening at 6:30 pm at Hillier  Funeral Home in Bryan. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated by Msgr John Malinowski at 1 pm on Thursday, February 14 at St. Joseph’s Church in Bryan. Burial will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery.

Blanca was born in Negritos, Peru on June 7, 1917. She was the oldest of seven children born to Alfonso and Gregoria Arca. In 1943, she married Myron Topson, who was a captain in the U. S. Army stationed in Peru during World War II. The couple settled in Columbus, OH after the end of the war and lived there until 1990, when they moved to Bryan. They had two children, Anita Cannon and Linda Narcowich, who also live in Bryan.

She will always be remembered as a loving mother and wife. Her passions were her family, her garden, cooking, and sewing. She loved animals, especially her cat Pete.

She was preceded in death by her sister Eyda Robison and her parents. Survivors include her husband Myron, her daughters Anita and Linda, their husbands Marvin Cannon and Francis Narcowich, and her grandson Michael Narcowich, all of Bryan; her sisters Ernestina, Graciela, Marciana, and Antonia of Lima, Peru; her brother Alfonso Arca of Fort Worth; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Harry and Mildred Topolosky of Columbus, OH, and numerous nieces and nephews.
