Betty Janet Howell Hicks, 88, of College Station, left to be with her Lord on April 20, 2022.
Betty was born on September 16, 1933 in Quinlan, TX to James Kindrick (Kinnie) and Cleo Beatrice Howell. She graduated from Waxahachie High School, Navarro Junior College, and University of Texas at Austin. Her career included medical technologist, junior high and high school history, government, and science teacher, and school librarian.
Betty loved her family, blue birds, and yellow roses. She loved Jesus and faithfully attended Calvary Baptist in Bryan for many years before joining Rock Prairie Baptist Church.
Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Lee Hicks; and parents, Kindrick Howell and Cleo Beatrice Ross Howell. She is survived by six sons, John Allen Hicks (Earline) of Porter, TX, Lonny Lee Hicks (Lisa) of College Station, TX, Robert Duane Hicks (Janet) of Gause, TX, Michael Ray Hicks (Kasey) of Channelview, TX, and Paul Hicks (Danette) of and Bill Hicks of Navasota. Other survivors include her brothers, Kenneth Truman Howell (Millie) of Corsicana, Raymond Glen Howell (Martha) of Waxahachie, James Bryan Howell of Waxahachie; sisters, Barbara Joyce Murphy of Waco, Mary Jane Paul of Corsicana, and Linda Frances Wear of Pflugerville; 23 grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren.
