Beryl Metherell

Beryl Doreen Metherell was born on February 24, 1932, in the United Kingdom. She was the only child of Alice Minnie and James (John) Hooper. Beryl married the love of her life, Gerald Llewelyn Metherell, on November 24, 1956. They spent most of their life in the UK raising three children.

Together they moved to the USA in 1988 to be closer to their grandson and daughters. They lived out their lives near their family, and lived to enjoy their three grandsons. Beryl became an avid painter in her last few years and gave many of her paintings to friends and family. She was an excellent seamstress, as well as a perfectionist when it came to knitting or crocheting. She enjoyed making blankets for babies up until her passing.

During the best years of her life, Beryl was an outgoing and social person, running a bed and breakfast business out of our home to help make ends meet. She often hosted dinner parties at her home for my father's oil company clients, and she thoroughly enjoyed events like these and was the life of the party!

While we have sadness at this time for her passing, we have joy that she is now with dad, something she has wanted for a long time

Mom went peacefully in her sleep to be with Dad on December 20, 2020. They are survived by their children, Hilary Dianne Lyon, Gary Richard Metherell, and Helen Catherine Harris; as well as our father's sons from an earlier marriage, Terry Alan and Ian Grant Metherell.
