Barbara Manning Bobo

I, Barbara Ellen Manning Bobo, 76, of Bryan, passed away on July 27, 2021. A visitation will take place at Hillier of Bryan on Thursday, August 5, from 1-4 pm with a service to follow at 4pm.

I was born in Port Arthur, Texas to my parents, Evalyn K. Manning and Floyd H. Manning. I grew up in Bellaire, Texas, and graduated from Bellaire High School.

I became a certified medical assistant and worked in the medical field for many years. In 1971, I contracted the travel "bug" and my brother, Chip, and I traveled all across Europe backpacking for three months. We went to thirteen different countries and it was the best thing I ever did. Upon returning home, I became a certified travel consultant and worked in the travel business until 2001. My travel experiences were fun, educational, and exhilarating. I have been all over the world, to 65 countries, and about 30 cruises. I finished my bucket list, something most are not able to say.

I leave behind my cherished brother, Chip; sister-in-law, Jo; my wonderful niece Reagan and wife Nicole; my fabulous nephew, Justin and wife Sarah; my precious great nieces, Hollis, Grayson, Penny, and Evie; my great nephew, Beckett; many dear friends in Houston and Austin that I traveled with as well as friends here in Bryan; my wonderful neighbors; and my sweet dog Bella.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston and The Pink Alliance. I would like to give a special thank you to all of my caregivers, Clauzelle, Marsha, Tina, Sherry, and Dr. Fleener.
