Anthony "Tony" Spadachene, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, sibling, and friend passed away peacefully in his home at the age of 80 and was delivered to his reward on a beautiful and sunny Sunday morning, April 30, 2023.
A committed and unwavering man of God, he was fully devoted in his faith to his family and in the fellowship of the congregations he served. Understated, but always supportive, not a word be spoken of need that he did not attend dutifully in the Spirit of God in Christ, always there for those in need and in His service.
Born in Navasota, Texas to the late Pete Spadachene, a musician/troubadour and salesman by day and his mother, the late Louise (Shead) Spadachene, a homemaker specializing in pies, a devoted Christian that dedicated many years of her life to the ecumenical education and care of children in the church.
Tony moved with his family from Navasota to Houston at a young age. He attended and graduated from Reagan High School in 1961. Tony met his beloved wife of almost 60 years, Patricia Ann James, the daughter of Willie James and Hazel (Puckett) James at a neighborhood dance at Love Park in The Heights and bonded over their mutual appreciation for dancing. They dated and married November 30, 1963.
Tony was called to serve his country and voluntarily enlisted in the U.S. Army, served for six years in the Reserves, and was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant. Throughout his life, he worked as an insurance salesman, small business owner, realtor, and lastly, a process server.
He loved to dance; he and Patricia jitterbugged their way through the years and then took up square dancing with friends. Fishing was also a hobby he enjoyed. Later on, he took up oil and watercolor painting and learned to make jewelry. Tony had a healthy sense of humor and loved to joke with family and friends. He loved to cook and feed people his famous spaghetti and meatballs.
With an abiding and unshakable love for the Lord, Tony was a rock of stability for his family. His faith and steadfastness is an indelible legacy he passed down to his children and grandchildren.
He loved his wife, family, friends and community. He loved his God and his country. He chose to give of himself and serve them all. He will be deeply missed.
Tony leaves behind his beloved wife, Patricia Ann; daughter Robyn and husband John Wiley; granddaughter Sarah and husband Colby; grandson James; son Christopher and wife Renee Spadachene; grandson Cullen; granddaughter, Aubrey; sister Cheryl Ann, niece Brandie and husband Steven Cole, with their children Josh, Riley & Matthew; niece Tiffany and her daughter Julia; along with many in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a multitude of loyal friends.
