Andrew McKnight Andersson, 66, of Plano, Texas, passed away Thursday, May 29, 2008, in Dallas.

Andy was born on December 30, 1941, in Bryan to Andrew G. and Frances (Gambill) Andersson. He was a class of ‘64 graduate of Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering.

He served as an ordained deacon and in other capacities at each church he attended over the course of his life. He was most recently a member of Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, Texas.

Andy was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was good-natured, kind, sincere and helpful to everyone. He served as a Boy Scout leader for each one of his three sons.

Throughout his life, he enjoyed many hobbies, including electronics, cycling, camping, photography and technology.

He was dedicated to his career as an electrical engineer and worked for Texas Instruments for more than 30 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 42 years, Linda Beth (Potts) Andersson of Plano, Texas; sons and daughter-in-law, Arthur and Angie Andersson of Kenosha, Wisconsin, Jonathan Andersson of Austin, Texas, and Benjamin Andersson of Richardson, Texas; brother and sister-in-law, Harry and Bonnie Andersson of College Station; sister and brother-in-law, Linda Ruth and Eddie Hoch of Bryan; brothers-in-law, Kent Potts and wife, Patricia, and Joel Potts and wife, Judy, all of Bryan; sister-in-law, Jean Prewett and husband, Ray, of Mission, Texas; and grandchildren, Zachary and Quinton Andersson of Wisconsin.
