Allen Dale Gaines

Allen Dale Gaines, 65, of College Station, Texas, passed away on November 3, 2023 from kidney failure.

Allen was born on April 11, 1958, the son of Frank and Jan Gaines in St Louis, Missouri. Allen a 2nd generation Telecommunications Technician for AT&T spent 35 years with the company until retiring. As someone that did not do well with idle hands, Allen’s retirement didn’t last long. He went on to spend 5 years with College Station Parks and Rec working as a horticulturist.

Those that knew and loved him could tell he loved the simple things in life. He spent his time watching his children play sports, going to the lake and fishing, and spent hours in his garden. Additionally, a founding member of The Brisket Cases Barbecue Team he spent 25 years as a member and rookie coordinator.

A loving son, father, and friend, Allen was preceded in death by his mother and father Frank and Jan Gaines. He is survived by his three children, Terra Rhodes, Kyle Gaines, and Shannon Gaines; his three grandchildren, Emma Rhodes, Eli Rhodes, and Hayden Gaines and his siblings Julie, Cheryl, Paul, and Frank. Further, he will be missed by his friends from AT&T, The City of College Station, and The Brisket Cases.

Services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to College Station Parks and Rec Foundation, an organization near and dear to Allen’s heart.
