Santiago Ordaz

Santiago Ordaz passed away July 5, 2018 at the age of 68.

Santiago was born November 27, 1949 in Tampico, Mexico to Maria del Carmen Garcia and Francisco Ordaz. Growing up as one of six children in Nuevo Laredo, Santiago was a hard worker. He attended school through the sixth grade, and then he began to work full time to support his family. Playing soccer was his passion in his youth until he was injured preventing him from ever playing again.

Santiago was married in Tampico, Tamaulipas Mexico to Silvia Ordaz. He was blessed with four children, which he jokingly said meant free labor. Although he taught himself English and did well, he wanted his children to have an education and a better life than he had. He wanted his family to grow up close and to always get along and be there for one another. He loved being a father and grandfather.
Santiago was a hardworking man. In his younger days, he was a photographer. When he moved to the United States, he was self-employed in the auto paint and body field. As hard as he worked, Santiago also loved to go on cruises. He went on six. He also loved to visit his homeland of Tampico. He loved to dress in suits – especially zoot suits and dance. He enjoyed watching old war movies and soccer. He was always willing to help someone in need. He will be remembered as a nice, caring person who always asked about others.

Santiago has joined his granddaughter Mariah Ordaz in heaven. Santiago leaves behind his wife Silvia Ordaz, his children Victor Ordaz, Sandra Ordaz Gonzalez and son in law James Gonzalez, Maria Del Carmen Ordaz, Marco Ordaz and daughter in law Janna Ordaz, his grandchildren Michael Ordaz, Christian Ordaz, Colin Ordaz, Gabriel Gonzalez Ordaz, Sebastian Ordaz, and his great grandson Liam Fowler Ordaz. He will be greatly missed.
