Sammy Brooks

Samuel Wayne Brooks, 63, of Bryan, passed on to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 30, 2021. A Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 1, 2021, from 10:30 am to 12 pm, at A&M Church of Christ, with a Celebration of life to follow at 12 pm.

Samuel was born in Corpus Christi, Texas, on November 2, 1957, to his parents, Jack and Vera Brooks. As a young boy, he moved around a lot with his family, growing up in Corpus Christi, Houston, Refugio, Wharton, and Sweeny. Samuel graduated from Sweeny High School in 1976, and went on to attend Texas A&M University in 1976 and 1977. He received his Associates of Electronics in 1991. Samuel enjoyed a career as a chemical plant operator and technical writer.

Samuel met the love of his life, Sharon, through mutual friends. They met, fell in love, and have been married for over 40 years. They had three children together that they have loved and supported, Jennifer, Amanda, and Bill. Samuel always enjoyed spending time with his family, including going camping, traveling with Sharon, and always spoiling his grandchildren. God and Family were the two most important aspects of his life.

His faith in God is what defined him as a man. The day he was baptized into Christ was the greatest day of his life. He was a member of A&M Church of Christ, where he loved singing praises to the Lord. He taught others to always trust in God, and no matter what battle or storm is in your path; the battle belongs to the Lord. He wanted everyone to know that God is able to do anything beyond what I can ask or imagine. Trusting in God is what got him through everything in his life.

Samuel will be missed by his wife, Sharon Brooks; his children, Jennifer Florence and boyfriend Chris Roosa, Amanda Clayton and husband Charles Clayton, and Bill Brooks and wife Emily Brooks; grandchildren, Blake Brooks, Elizabeth Clayton, Jack Brooks, and Clay Brooks; siblings, Brian and wife Paula Brooks, and Vicki Johnston and husband Dan Johnston.

Samuel will be reunited with his parents, Jack and Vera Brooks; grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and niece.
