Ross Jarvis

Ross Allen Jarvis, 74, of Carlos, passed away on Thursday, April 15, 2021. A devoted, compassionate, and adventurous man, Ross will be missed as a father, husband, and friend to many.

Ross was born on June 3, 1946, in Houston, Texas, to his parents, Ross and Viola Jarvis. Growing up in Grimes county, Ross enjoyed living in the country. He started a career as a machinist for a couple of years, and then dedicated over 30 years to working in power plants as a control room operator. He then began a 17-year long career as a correctional officer with the state of Texas.

Ross met the love of his life at a young age, and they enjoyed 51 years of a wonderful and loving marriage. They had two children together, Jennifer and John, that were both the light of Ross' life. He was a very dedicated father that loved his family. He worked hard to provide for them, and was so proud of his children. Once his grandchildren came along, he couldn't be prouder. He loved watching each and every one of them grow so he could pass on his knowledge of life, hunting, and history.

A great passion for history, he loved it all from world history to local history. He loved to pass his knowledge to his son and grandsons. He loved the outdoors, and became a very accomplished hunter through all the years of his life. Ross also had an extreme passion and knowledge of firearms. He enjoyed working on and repairing firearms.

Ross belonged and served as a Mason with the masonic lodge for over 51 years. He was a Christian and a God fearing man. He trusted in his Lord, and found faith in God.

Ross will be missed by his wife of 51 years, Mary Jarvis; his children, Jennifer Diamond, and John and his wife Jamie Jarvis; his grandchildren, Cameron Jarvis, Cliff Diamond, Rebecka Diamond, and Jacob Hirsch; and great-grandchildren, Kalven Diamond, and Adrian Diamond.

He will reunited in heaven with his parents, Ross Lee Jarvis and Viola Bell Jarvis.

The family would like to thank the Grand Lodge of Texas (Orphan's Friend #17), and Brother Moore for all they've done for their family.

A Visitation will be held from 11 am - 1 pm, on Friday, April 23rd, at Hillier of COLLEGE STATION.
