Rev Raul Roel Mejia

Reverend Raul Roel Mejia (AKA Junior) went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 6, 2018 at the age of 75.
Reverend Raul was born February 1, 1943 in Edinburg, Texas to Raul Salinas and Jovita Sanchez Mejia. His stepfather was Refugio Mejia. He grew up with eight brothers and sisters. After graduating from high school, Raul was drafted in the military and served our country in the Vietnam War from 1970-1973. He was very proud of his service and was a member of the VFW Post 7473. He was a former chaplain of the VFW for the Rio Grande Valley. Raul travelled as much as he could.
Reverend Raul was a big sports fan. He loved the Dallas Cowboys and the LA Lakers of the 1980s. He was a history buff and a math whiz. He enjoyed hanging out with friends drinking coffee, and was a great storyteller. Reverend Raul was an ordained minister with asociación de Obreros Cristianos from 1975-1982. He then became an ordained minister with Unified Pentecostal Local Churches Incorporated, International until his passing. He enjoyed reading the Bible while listening to Norteno/ Conjunto music. He could always be counted on to pray for the sick with many countless testimonies of healings and miracles in his forty years of ministry.

Granado Mejia, his son and daughter-in-law Roel and Deborah Mejia, his so Raul Mejia Jr., his grandsons Micah Elias Mejia and Ethan Edward Mejia, his brother and sister-in-law Lorenzo* and Celia Mejia, his brother and sister-in-law Joe and Connie Mejia, his brother and sister-in-law Patricio and Diana Mejia, his brother and sister-in-law David and Juana Mejia, his brother and sister-in-law Robert and Rita Mejia, his sister and brother-in-law Nelda and Celso Gracia, his sister and brother-in-law Mary Jane and Alex Gamez, his sister Rosalinda Mendes, and 35 nieces and nephews. He is reunited with his daughter Raquel Mejia who passed away in 1975.
To honor Reverend Raul’s memory, his family has planned a visitation and service on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Ministerio De Restauracion EBEN-EZER 5301 N Texas Ave, Bryan, TX 77803. Raul’s visitation will be from 6-7, with the service starting at 7. Burial will take place Thursday, April 12 at Houston National Cemetery.
