Paul Moncivais Rodriguez, 86, of Bryan, Texas, joined God on Thursday, February 7, 2019, at St. Joseph’s Hospital surrounded by close family and friends.
Paul was born March 23, 1932, in Bryan, Texas to Paul L. Rodriguez Sr and Consuelo M. Rodriguez. He graduated from Steven F. Austin High School in 1951 and went to Texas A&M University. Paul served our great country during the Korean conflict, then returned to finish his education at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville Texas. On December 31, 1954, he married his life partner and best friend, Delfina V. Rodriguez in Bryan. Paul was a law enforcement officer, then he went to be employed by the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier for 32 years. He was well known in Bryan as “The Mailman!” and he greatly enjoyed working in Bryan. When he wasn’t working hard, he was at his family home spending time with his family and entertaining with friends. He spent most of his weekends watching sports, especially Aggie football, playing piano, and enjoying quality time with his wife and sons. He also enjoyed reading the Bryan Eagle, listening to Glenn Miller, and spending time with his grandchildren every chance he could.
Paul is survived by his loving wife, Delfina; his four sons, Daniel, Paul Jr, Benjamin, and David; his wonderful grandchildren, Jason, Josh, Zech, Zeb, John, Jacob, Gaberiel, Ezekiel, Lacey, and Mikayla; his two remaining siblings Gregory, and Manuel; and his numerous treasure extended family and friends.
A visitation will be held from 09:30 am to 10:30 am on Friday, February 15, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. A Rosary will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, February 15,2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, February 15, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 507 E 26th St, Bryan, TX 77803. Interment will follow at Rest-Ever Cemetery in Bryan, Texas.
