Patricia McFarlin

Patricia Ann McFarlin went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, October 30, 2020, in Bryan, Texas, at the age of 77. Patricia was born on December 21, 1942, to William and Claudia Venissat in Vinton, Louisiana where she spent her childhood.

Patricia met Charles, the love of her life on a blind date while she was in high school. Even though they were only teenagers at the time, they instantly fell in love and married. Patricia and Charles spent a beautiful 62 years together. They loved each other very deeply and made countless unforgettable memories with their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Patricia was an inspiration to her family. She was an amazing nurse who spent her whole career loving and taking care of her patients. Her great passion for helping others rubbed off on two of her granddaughters. She inspired them to follow in her footsteps and become nurses as well.

When Patricia wasn't at work she enjoyed many hobbies. She loved sewing, reading, and doing crafts, but her favorite pastime was spending time with the ones she loved most. She especially loved spoiling and taking care of her grandchildren. She always joked that it was because they kept her young!

Patricia was a wonderful wife, nurse, and mother. She was there for her family no matter what, always giving them advice or simply just being there to listen. She inspired everyone around her with her determination, love for life, and faith in the Lord.

Patricia is survived by her loving husband, Charles McFarlin; her children Suzette Leger and husband Mark, Rayford McFarlin and wife Jeanne, and Kenneth McFarlin; and her grandchildren Ryan Leger, Justin Leger and wife Kristen, Adam McFarlin and wife Andrea Gains-Germain, Katy Smith and husband Clyde Smith, Jean McFarlin, Nicholas McFarlin, Rachel Prestwood and husband Paul Prestwood, and Monica Boykin and husband Zach Boykin; and her great-grandchildren Alaina, Annabelle, and Amelia Leger, Jonah and Noah Prestwood, Ari McFarlin, Ceceilia Smith, and Sophia Boykin. Patricia is preceded in death by her parents, William and Claudia Venissat.

The family would like to thank Brazos Valley Hospice and The Cancer Center in Bryan for overseeing Patricia's care in these last few months.

A Rosary and Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 am on Monday, December 14th, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. A Graveside service will follow at Restever Memorial Park Cemetery.
