Maxine Boriskie

Maxine Marie Boriskie (Autrey) has left her lifelong home of Bryan Texas, and has been reunited with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 17, 2021.

Maxine was born in Bryan, Texas, on February 27, 1941. She attended St. Joseph Catholic School K- 8th grade and continued to be a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Maxine continued her high school education and graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in 1959. She enjoyed walking home from school every day, picking dewberries and wild flowers. As a result, she developed a great passion for gardening that continued throughout her life.

In addition to gardening, Maxine loved to dance at the SPJST halls in Snook and Smetana. One year she attended the CYO Dance at Texas A&M Newman Center, where she met the love of her life Floyd C. Boriskie. When she married Floyd and started their life together, it was the greatest day of her life. She enjoyed spending every morning with Floyd having their morning coffee. They spent 57 loving years together in marriage and had two children, Michele and Kevin. She was so proud of both of them and what they have accomplished. They both graduated from Texas A&M University, and she could not have been a prouder Aggie parent! She enjoyed their family trips together and participating in and attending their children's and grandchildren's many school events and sporting activities.

Maxine is known for putting others before herself, as she was a member of several organizations including KJZT, St. Joseph Women Guild, SPJST Lodge, and the Funeral Meal Committee at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Her church was important to her, and she was always willing to give back to St. Joseph Catholic Church any way she could.

Maxine was a gentle, loving, and selfless woman, with a big heart to give to others. Her faith and family were the most important aspects of her life. She loved caring for her grandchildren, and the role of grandmother was a title that she was very proud to have. As an animal lover, she loved hummingbirds and red birds. When her family sees a hummingbird or red bird, they will always think of Maxine.

Maxine will be remembered by her husband of 57 years, Floyd Boriskie; daughter, Michele Boriskie, and son, Kevin Boriskie, and his wife, Amber, and their three children Kevin II, Sydney and Sarah; a sister in law Linda Autrey and her children, Marissa Autrey Sweetin and her husband Seth; Jamie Autrey; Vicki Warner and her husband John; David Helm; Steven Helm and his wife Traci; Andrea Jolly and her husband Dunnis.

Maxine will be reunited with her loving parents Miles and Stella Autrey and brothers James and Maurice Autrey.
Memorial contribution may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Joseph Catholic School, or a charity of your choice.

The family would like to thank St. Joseph Hospital Critical Care Unit and Hillier Funeral Home for their care for Maxine. They would also like to thank Father Jason Bonifazi for the gracious services and guidance during this time.
