Max Butler

Max Edward Butler, 99 of Bryan, went home to be with his Lord on December 10, 2019.

Max was born on December 5th, 1920 to Dwight and Freda (Vogt) Butler in Ashland, Nebraska. Max met the love of his life, Marjorie Reddick, in the Bethany Christian Church choir. Max was also attending the University of Nebraska studying Business Administration. During this time the United States was brought into World War II. Max joined the navy becoming a dive bomber achieving the rank of Lieutenant Commander. Max completed his Master's at the University of Nebraska in Business Administration upon discharge from the Navy. Max worked for Firestone Tire and Rubber company working in the accounting office. Working for Firestone, Max would live in many countries around the world including Mexico, Australia, Thailand, and Kenya. Max retired to Bryan, Texas where has was an active member of First Presbyterian Church and lived there with his loving wife for 25 years until her passing.

Max is preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie, his parents, and both his sister (Lavone) and brother (Ray) and one grandson.

Max leaves behind his three daughters: Charlotte Grossnickle of Fredericksburg VA, Sheila Edwards of Edmonton Alberta, Canada, and Nancy Exton of Rossi, NSW, Australia; 6 grandchildren and 5 great - grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at First Presbyterian Church of Bryan. A Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at First Presbyterian Church of Bryan, 1100 Carter Creek Pkwy, Bryan, TX 77802. Interment will follow at Restever Memorial Park.
