Martha Jane Tabor Brunson

Martha Jane Tabor Brunson passed away Sunday, December 9. 2018 at the age of 90.
Martha was born January 18, 1928 in Bryan, Texas to Charles Hillman Tabor and Bettie Cobb Tabor.
Growing up with her sister Dorothy in Houston she spent the summers with her father in Bryan. Living in Houston, as a teenager, she met the love of her life, Carroll Brunson. She often said she married the first boy she ever kissed. They married when she was eighteen on June 17, 1944. She often said they were hard days but rich in memories.
Carroll and Martha were devoted in love and marriage for 73 years. Her mission in life was the be a good wife and raise five sons. Her passions were antiques and the organization, Daughters of the Republic of Texas. She was an accomplished baker and candy maker. She was a member of the Wheelock United Methodist Church and was active for many years. Carroll and Martha moved to Wheelock in the late 1980’s to be a loving part of the community. They occupied the old Love Estate and Store for many years, known as Martha Jane’s Antiques.
Husband, Carroll, sister Dorothy and youngest son Charles precede her in death. She is survived her son and daughter-in-law, Richard and PJ; son and daughter-in-law, James C. and Cathy; Her son, David; son and daughter-in-law Bruce and Jeneane;Her grandchildren: Abigail, Molly and husband Matt; Sean; Robert and wife Trena; Carolyn and great grandson, Parker.
To honor her life, her family has planned a graveside service for 10 AM Friday, December 14th, at Bryan City Cemetery with a luncheon at the Wheelock United Methodist Church after the service.
