Maria Angelica Hernandez-Chavez passed away Monday, July 23, 2018 at the age of 49.
Maria was born February 24, 1969 in Peñon Blanco, Durango Mexico to Maria Miladi Chavez and Antonio Hernandez. Growing up with her siblings Leticia, Antonio, Gonzalo, Jose, Arturo, Arnulfo, Luis, and Jeannye, Maria had a very happy childhood. She enjoyed playing with her dolls and siblings. She enjoyed dancing, shopping, and going to church.
Maria’s family was very important to her. She was blessed with four children: Daisy S., Daniel S., Angie S., and Sophia Q. She was in a loving relationship with the father of her youngest daughter, Raul Quiroz. She enjoyed every day she was able to spend with her family. Maria liked to play volleyball with her daughter whenever she got the chance. She loved watching cooking shows and cooking dinner for her family. She especially loved celebrating Christmas and Thanksgiving with them.
During her marriage to her first husband, Maria became a member of her church “Sobre la Roca.” Church and her faith were very important to her. She was a very caring, loving, and charismatic woman. She was resilient, strong, and a fighter. She will be remembered for her jokes and laugh.
Maria leaves behind her partner Raul Quiroz; her children Daisy, Daniel, Angie, and Sophia; her siblings; her mother; and her grandchildren Adrian and Anahi.
To honor Maria’s life, her family has planned a celebration gathering and visitation to be held from 5-8 PM on Thursday, July 26, 2018, at Hillier Funeral Home of Bryan. A Rosary and Memory Sharing Ceremony will begin at 6:30 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM on Friday, July 27, 2018 at Santa Teresa Catholic Church with interment to follow at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
