Mabel Moon

Mabel Virginia McDonald Moon, 96, of College Station went to be with her Lord on July 29, 2018.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at New Church Cemetery in Edge, Texas.

Mabel was born on October 3, 1921, to Rueben McDonald and Ollie Corgey McDonald in Edge, Texas. She attended the Kings Highway School and the school in Edge. She was in a school play when she met the love of her life, Luther. She and Luther owned and ran the Handy Burger and the Serendipity Shop. Mabel colored photographs in San Antonio during the war, worked at Hotards and Kelly’s Coffee Shop. She had over 10 years with Texas A&M as well and was a member of the A&M Church of Christ. Mabel loved to fish, arts and crafts, and was ready for a road trip anytime. She was a wonderful cook, of which many of her recipes are used at Blue Moon BBQ.

She is proceeded in death by her loving husband, Luther, of 51 years, and 7 brothers and sisters.
Mabel leaves behind her son, Rick and his wife Toni, 3 grandsons, Russell and his wife Karessa, Christopher and his fiancée May, and Matthew; 1 brother, Kenneth and his wife Pat; and numerous nieces and nephews .
