Lillian Esther Dangott

Lillian (“Lil”) Esther Dangott, 94, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 16, 2018, at St Joseph Regional Hospital in Bryan, Texas.
Lil was born in Oakland, California, the daughter of Celia and Harry Perman . She graduated from Oakland Technical High School and entered the workforce as a keypunch operator during the second World War, after which, she met and married Saul Dangott in Oakland on June 2, 1946. They had a very active social and family life enriched by the birth of their child, Larry, and the joys and adventures of parenthood, and eventually, grand-parenthood. Their life together was enriched enormously by Lil’s large extended family and many special friendships in their community in California. Together they enjoyed the opportunity to travel the world and made new friends wherever they traveled. Lil volunteered her time over the years to their Jewish community, including her work with the B’nai B’rith Women, of which she is a past president. Lil was well known as a generous-hearted and devoted daughter, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister and aunt. She was always up for a good game of Mahjong, poker or solitaire. She was the life of any party and made all people feel welcome. She continued living an active and independent life following Saul’s death in 2001. Then, following a prolonged illness in 2004, she moved to Bryan/College Station in 2005 to be closer to her children and grandchildren.
Lillian is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Donna, of College Station, her grandchildren, Jessica and Joshua, both of Dallas, her brother and sister-in-law, William and April Perman of Scottsdale and nieces and nephews in California and Arizona. Private interment services will be held in California.
The family would like to thank the staff of St Joseph Manor (Katrina Cloud, Karen Gonzales, Roseanne Jones, Shelvia Young, Iesha Williams, Shauna Quiroz, Jackie Canty, Natosha Coleman, Diane Smith, Patricia Acorn, and Jessica Luther) for the compassionate care they provided for these many years.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Lil’s memory be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America (alzfdn.org), the Nature Conservancy (nature.org) or the charity of your choice.
