Kristen Leanna Potenza (Litke), 54, of Somerville, was joined in the arms of her Savior Jesus Christ on April 19, 2019.
Kristen was born in Emporia, Kansas on October 2, 1958 to Faye and Theodore W. Litke Jr.

She leaves behind her adoring husband, Steven Neal Potenza. After a blind date arranged by close friend Angela " Kitty" White. They fell in love and married on May 2, 1992 by Reverend Paul Lewis at West Oaks Baptist Church in Houston, Texas. Kristen and Steven enjoyed riding along the Texas Highways, and would never miss a chance to stop and read a Texas Land Mark. Although Kristen's favorite bird was the Hummingbird, they loved to sight and record many Texas birds in their bird book. She and Steven once visited Rock Port, Texas just to experience Hummingbirds as they migrated North. They also enjoyed camping trips together!
Although Kristen was in great pain from multiple medical conditions, she was a joyful person. She never met a stranger that didn't instantly become a friend. Kristen went to school for Cosmetology and then worked as a manicurist for several years, where she met her best friend of 32 years, Hilda Garza. She had many spoiled pets throughout her life time, but most recently, her two dogs, Walker and Midgie, and a cat, Blacky.

Kristen had a heart for Blue Bell ice cream, diet coke, green beans, mashed potatoes, shrimp cooked any fashion, and being raised on Kansas Beef- "Cow meat."

Her husband related that her favorite pass time, however, was spending money.

Kristen was greeted in Heaven by her grandparents Velma and Theodore W. Litke, and Earl H. and Virginia F. Peterson.
She leaves her sister, Amy Scott and husband, Richard Scott of Hindsville, AR., and her two nephews, Ricky Scott of Elkins, AR and Aaron Scott of Hindsville, AR. She also leaves behind many cousins in Kansas.

Kristen is also survived by her Potenza in-laws, mom and dad, Nevelyne and Jerry Potenza of Lyons, Texas, Sister and brother in-law Denna and David Hardin of Round top, Texas, brothers and sisters in law Thomas and Rhonda Potenza of Cleveland, Texas, and James and Gina Potenza of Pearland, Texas., also Nephews Andrew and his wife Emily Hardin, of South Korea, Thomas Potenza Jr., of Cleveland, Texas, and niece, Janie Potenza of Pearland, Texas.
