Love God as if it’s your last day! Love others as if it’s their last day! With this as her motto, Karen Stanley went to be with the Lord on February 17, 2018 at the age of 56.
Karen was born January 21, 1962 in Haskell, Texas to Al and Shirley Stanley. Both were pastors at Assembly of God Churches. Growing up with her brother David and sister Darla, Karen was a very happy child. She enjoyed playing with her Barbies and playing church with her sister. Karen also enjoyed spending time with her friends Lori, Debbie and Londi. While attending high school in Hugo, Oklahoma, Karen began serving the Lord through working with the bus ministry at the church her parents pastored. Eventually graduating from Stephenville, Texas.
Karen served the Lord in all parts of her life. While she owned her own cleaning business for over 30 years, she used that as an opportunity to win several clients to the Lord. She knew that being a Christian witness meant that she had to share the gospel with her actions, not just her words. Her big laugh was a reflection of her happiness in the Lord and her love of life. Karen enjoyed writing in her journals, studying the Bible, singing, and listening to music. She was very involved at Skybreak Church, where she loved serving on the VIP team and being part of the Skybreak Sisterhood. Karen dearly loved and admired pastor Danny Green.
Karen enjoyed spending time with her family. She leaves behind her parents Al and Shirley Stanley, her sister Darla Rodriguez, her niece Christel, her nephews Jonathan, Micah, and Austin, her aunt and uncle Doris and Frank Burns.
To honor Karen’s life, her family has planned a Celebration of Life at 11AM on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at Skybreak Church.
