Jose Luis Guerrero, Sr. passed away February 22, 2019, at the age of 58.
Jose was born August 22, 1960, in Palau, Coahuila Mexico to Jose Angel Guerrero and Catalina Del Toro. Jose had a happy childhood, growing up with his siblings San Juana Guerrero, Felipe Guerrero, Patricia Guerrero, and Jose Angel Guerrero, Jr. He moved to the U.S. in 1995. Always full of life, joy, and compassion, Jose tried to cheer everyone up around him. This attitude continued throughout his life. Overall a very happy man, he would always point out how life could be a lot worse, so why should we be upset about how it is now? He was goofy and fun to be around.
Jose was very close to his family. His children Hilda Elisa Olalde, Jose Luis Guerrero Jr., Brenda Guerrero, and Cristian Guerrero, along with his beloved mother, meant everything to him. He worked many jobs over his lifetime. He was always willing to do whatever he needed to do in order to take care of his responsibilities and take care of his family. When he wasn’t working, he loved to go fishing. He used to take his children along with him to share his passion. Jose also loved watching baseball, so even though red was his favorite color, he loved his Yankee Blue!
Jose leaves behind his mother Catalina Del Toro, his son Jose Luis Guerrero, Jr., his daughter Brenda Guerrero, his son Cristian Guerrero, his brother Felipe Guerrero, his sister Patricia Guerrero, his brother Jose Angel Guerrero, Jr., and his grandchildren Ailene Olalde, Alex Olalde, and Mariah Sanchez. He was preceded in death by his father Jose Angel Guerrero, his daughter Hilda Elisa Olalde, and his sister San Juana Guerrero.
To honor Jose’s life, his family has planned a visitation on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 from 10 AM -1 PM at Hillier Funeral Home of Bryan.
