Jodi S. Hoard (Lansford)

Jodi Sue Hoard passed away March 6, 2019, at the age of 48.

Jodi was born May 6, 1970, in Sherman, Texas to James and Linda (Skipworth) Lansford. Jodi lived in Sherman for the majority of her childhood and until she had her son Cory. Growing up, Jodi was very close to Eugene Robinson. He was her best friend and she considered him to be her brother. He was the most supportive family she had outside her extended family and later, her son Cory.

Although Jodi had a rough start in life, she definitely took that experience and used it as a driving motivation in being a wonderful mother. Being a mother of two boys, Christopher Neal Lansford (now deceased) and Cory Hoard, made her want to be a better person. She was always there to give Cory her full love and support. She really enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and let them know how loved they were. She wanted to make life better for those she loved. When she had to share a hard truth with the ones she loved, she would soften the blow with, "I'm gonna say this with kitten paws."

Jodi struggled with addiction for a long time, but with the help of her NA/AA family and her loving son Cory, she was able to overcome her addiction. For the past five years, she was proud to maintain a life of sobriety. NA/AA was critical to her success and happiness in the last five years. Due to everything she had to struggle with in her life, Jodi was wiry and able to converse with just about anyone. She could easily adapt to almost any situation. Her loud and outgoing personality drew people to her, and she never met a stranger.

Jodi loved cats! She collected live cats and cat figurines, and was affectionately known as the "Cat Lady." She also enjoyed photography and took many pictures of her much-loved cats. Peaches were her favorite food, and she loved anything peach flavored, from peach soda and peach tea to peach candy.

Jodi leaves behind her son and daughter-in-law Cory and Erity Hoard, her grandchildren Colby Thomas Hoard and Greyson Ashton Hoard, and her mother-in-law Beverly Hoard. She also leaves her dear friends Leanne Pugh and Sarah Payne, who helped Jodi with her sobriety, her longtime friend Cece Letts, Kris Garza and his wife Danielle, who were close friends who could always be depended on, and many other friends who were always there for her.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made directly to Hillier Funeral Home of Bryan to assist with the cost of final arrangements.
