Jimmie Ree Nigliazzo left this world on January 16, 2019. She was born on June 20, 1924, in Bruce, Mississippi to James Lonnie Harville and Mary Francis Burgess Harville. Her French, Scottish, and Irish ancestry contributed to her sassy nature and distinctive zest for life. As a young adult, she moved to Duncan, Oklahoma, completed several college courses, and spent her professional years as a medical transcriptionist. She regularly attended USO dances in Lawton, Oklahoma where she met her future husband, the late Luke L. Nigliazzo, MD, with whom she had five children. She often said her happiest years were spent in Galveston, Texas, while her husband attended medical school at UTMB as she tended to their growing family. For the remainder of her life she would always find joy and comfort at the beach. She never knew a stranger and made lifelong friendships wherever she went. She will be affectionately remembered for her love of arts and crafts, especially crocheting and painting.
She is preceded in death by her husband and their daughters Linda Jane Nigliazzo and Sharon Nigliazzo Alexander, as well as her sisters Jo Green and Jackie Casey. She leaves behind a living legacy of three children and their families: Luke and Laura Nigliazzo, Cindy and Pete Gallaher, and Avis and Andy Ramirez, her brother Jerry Harville and sister-in-law Martha Harville, eleven grandchildren, and twenty great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held from 5-8 PM on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Hillier Funeral Home of BRYAN with a service to begin at 11 AM on Friday, January25, 2019 at the Church of the Nazarene in Bryan. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
