Jan Lusher

Frances Jeanet Clampett “Jan” Lusher passed away March 22, 2018 at the age of 71.

Jan was born July 27, 1946 in Houston to Weichsel Jack and Ruth Vivian (Jewell) Clampett. She grew up with her brothers and sister in the Houston Heights. Growing up, Jan loved school, especially reading. On April 19, 1962, Jan made a profession of faith and was baptized at Heights Presbyterian Church in Houston. She graduated from John H. Reagan High School in 1964 and worked for a while for Dr. Pepper and Texas Commerce Bank.

Jan met the love of her life, John David Lusher, while she was still in school. They regained contact after he went into the Army serving in Vietnam. She would write letters to him and they sent reel-to-reel tapes back and forth. They married July 17, 1968 at the Harmony Wedding Chapel off of the Gulf Freeway in Houston. They were blessed with a son, John David Lusher II on October 30, 1975. She enjoyed going camping and fishing with her family, and later on trips to Colorado. She worked for various companies as a bookkeeper, and later helped her husband John by keeping his books and typing up the field notes of his land surveys. She was also an excellent homemaker and mother. She always made Christmas very special for the family. Jan and John were married until his death on March 12th, 2015. In her spare time, Jan liked reading and doing crossword puzzles as she enjoyed a bowl of Blue Bell ice cream.

Jan is survived by her son and daughter-in-law John David II and Jennifer Lynn Lusher, her granddaughter Amelia Grace Lusher, her brother and sister-in-law James Henry and Audrey Ruth Clampett, and her sister and brother-in-law Gloria Sue and Edwin Tomek.

To honor her life, Jan’s family has planned a graveside service at noon on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Como Cemetery in Como, Texas.
