March 21, 1975 – August 8, 2017

James Paul West passed away too soon on August 8, 2017, at the age of 42.

James was born March 21, 1975, to Paul and Kathy West in Midland, Texas. As a kid, he loved to hunt and fish. Before college, he spent time in the US Army, then attended Texas A & M as a member of the Corps of Cadets. As a freshman, he was voted the high honor of Cadet of the Year by his peers. James found his true calling in the restaurant industry, where he worked for fifteen years. He loved it for the service it gave to others. He recently transitioned into working for the Federal Government as an employee of the US Department of Agriculture.

James met his wife Lizzie in January 2004, when they worked together at Ninfa’s. They married on August 18, 2007. They loved spending time together watching movies and trying new restaurants.

James always had a positive outlook on life and had a servant’s heart. He loved to cook for people and try new recipes with his wife. Saved at a young age, James was an active Christian and a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church. He was an usher and could always be counted on to help out with events and services.

James leaves behind his wife Lizzie Marie of College Station, daughter Chloe Elizabeth of Austin, his parents Paul and Kathy of Nocona, TX, his brother and sister-in-law Mike and Jeni, his niece Ashley and nephew Jason of Nashville, TN, and his brother and spouse Gary and Eric of New York City. He will be greatly missed by his loving family. His family would like to invite you to help them remember his life by attending his Life Celebration Service at 11 AM on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 2201 Earl Rudder Freeway, College Station, TX 77845.

His family requests that donations be made to Aldersgate UMC for Celebrate Recovery in lieu of flowers.
