Gabriel Garcia

Gabriel Mendez Garcia, 18, of College Station, went on to be with his Heavenly Father on Sunday, July 18, 2021. Gabriel lived a meaningful life with respect, a kind heart, and a caring personality. His smile and humor lightened the world around him, bringing joy to everyone that had the opportunity to meet him. Gabriel will be missed immensely by his family, friends, and loved ones.

Gabriel was born on March 10, 2003, in College Station, Texas, to his parents, Juan Garcia and Kathie Mendez. As a young boy, Gabriel was a joy to his family and always created excitement! When he was 3 years old, he loved going streaking! He was also scared of all animals until he was 5 years old. As he grew up, he loved to be around people and family. He enjoyed acting silly and making jokes! Making people laugh was one of his favorite things to do! He also enjoyed spending time with his cousins playing basketball and fishing. During the week, he would go to school, and on the weekends, he loved working with his Dad mowing lawns. Family was the most important aspect of Gabriel's life. He had a special relationship with everyone, and was always there for them. Family was what made Gabriel happy, being around them and spending time with them. He taught his family to be kind and love one another.

Gabriel lived his life to the fullest! His smile said it all! One of his greatest memories was when he went to Florida and stayed the night on the beach. When he went to the next level in school was his greatest achievement. He was so proud, and shared the excitement with everyone around him. He was always so silly, he would often say "oh yeah" with a straight face, which always made everybody in the room laugh! He chose to spread laughter, even through his sickness, he found joy and laughter in everything he went through. He was a special person that spread love and laughter. He will be remembered for his smile, his smile that was contagious.

His love will continue to spread and he will be remembered by his parents, Kathie Mendez and Juan Garcia Sr.; brother, Juan Jose Garcia Jr.; and his loving pets, dog, Bow Bow, and bird, Love.

He is now with his Heavenly Father and reunited with his grandma, Basilisa Mendez; grandma, Rosa Garcia; and Uncle, Apolonio Garcia.
